Another day for finding a new walk for Digby. This time we drove to Stockbridge Down, where there is a nature reserve you can walk with vast views across the down.
On the down you will find remnants of an iron age fort and a bronze age burial mound for historical interest, and the flora and fauna is interesting in early summer. We also spotted lots of butterflies, some I hadn't seen before, one of which I looked up which was the Marbled White.
Sometimes there are cattle grazing so we needed to be careful by having Digby on a leash, but we soon discovered they were not around so he came off so he could run around.
Stockbridge town is not too far away if you wanted to go to some restaurants or cafes there but as it was such a nice day we took a small drive to one of my favourite pubs as the garden next to the River Test is delightful.
