As a space geek, it is awesome having 2 sons to leak your passion onto. We are always seeking out space related fun and as my birthday was scuppered by having Covid, a week's delay meant a nice little birthday shopping trip to Chichester and to see this fantastic touring art installation.
Musuem of the Moon, created by Luke Jerram, is a scaled version of the moon's surface using NASA imagery, and really is very captivating. It is accompanied with a surround sound composition created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award winning composer Dan Jones. This has been touring for a while and there are still some dates left in the UK and Europe this year, its well worth a visit. My eldest asked theological questions such as why is the moon being housed in a religious establishment, sparking off the creation debate. My youngest just thought it was awesome to be that close to the moon. Either way I think this exhibition brings more than just seeing what the moon actually looks like. For me I found it really calming for a spot of mind stillness in what has been quite a stressful few weeks.
After a spot of shopping and moon gazing we decided to go back to our favourite pizza and pasta restaurant, The Cider House Restaurant for some delicious dinner before driving back home. A lovely birthday day out with the loves of my life.
